An instructional guide on how to use NSCAD's institutional repository

Institutional Repository: Home

NSCAD's Institutional Repository enables and enhances access to the scholarly and creative outputs of NSCAD by presenting various digital archival and special collections material. The purpose of the repository is to create access to NSCAD's history, promote collections, and preservation efforts, past and present, to the NSCAD community and beyond.

The NSCAD Repository features multiple collections including our collection of Digital Theses, the Mezzanine Gallery Collection, The NSCAD Womens File Fonds, the Audio Collection, and others. The materials found in this repository are digital surrogates of special collections material, and archival fonds and collections housed in the Visual Resources Collection of the NSCAD Library, and the Anna Leonowens Gallery. This repository is a multi-departmental effort to enhance awareness, access, and preservation to NSCAD’s history, and is updated regularly to continue to service the research needs of the NSCAD Community. All content has been described according to MODS and Dublin Core metadata standards.  For any questions regarding the repository, please contact Rebecca Young, NSCAD Librarian at

NSCAD Open Research Archive + AV

The NSCAD Open Research Archive + AV (NORA AV) is a digital space for collecting, preserving, and disseminating audiovisual works and related documentation created by the NSCAD University community, as well as material connected to the history of NSCAD. Currently there is a focus on building digital collections in NORA AV that showcase the scholarly research and creative outputs of the NSCAD community, as well as making NSCAD’s collection of AV resources more accessible.

Check out NORA Collections and read more about the project at
