Obtain books, articles and other materials not held in NSCAD Library's collections. Interlibrary loan (ILL) may also be referred to as document delivery.
NSCAD Library is a member of a consortium of libraries known as Novanet. Novanet libraries share an integrated catalogue, library management system, and document delivery service called Novanet Express.
More information on Novanet may be found here.

NSCAD Library is a partner in an interlibrary loan consortium called the Canadian Association of University Libraries Document Delivery Group (CAUL-DDG). We use an automated system called Relais to manage the delivery of materials between libraries. The system allows us to quickly order books, articles and other media from libraries in the Atlantic region, across Canada and around the world. In turn, we loan our circulating materials to patrons of other libraries.
Novanet Express is restricted to materials held within the Novanet consortium.
Relais may be used for materials held within the Novanet consortium or beyond. As a rule, Novanet Express is recommended for books found in the Novanet catalogue, and Relais for books that are not available in Novanet. You can certainly use Relais to request books held by a Novanet library, but Novanet Express tends to be just a little faster!
Article requests are placed through Relais, either via the Novanet catalogue or directly through the Relais form.
