Mend in Public

What is Mend in Public Day?

Mend in Public Day is a worldwide event created by the group Fashion Revolution to raise awareness around issues of sustainability in the fashion industry, and to educate about the damage done by fast fashion. It's also a great way to learn mending techniques, meet some interesting people and have fun!

Have a favourite sweater, sadly visited by moths? A skirt that has a rip or a shirt needing some buttons replaced? Want to learn some embroidery stitches, add a cool patch to your jacket? We will have volunteers on hand to give advice. We'll also have on hand some fabric, thread, embroidery floss, needles and scissors to use during the event. So bring along your item and any specialty items you may require (i.e., special buttons, matching yarn, zipper, etc.). Mending is for everyone!
